Volunteer

How Can I help

Improve your students performance! Research shows that the more time adults spend supporting schools, the better the students do. You can help us by sharing your time and talents with the students.

What can you Do? Tutor, Mentor, Support teachers, Join the PTA, join the Parent Patrol, Become a Room Parent, Assist at school activities (assemblies, jog-a-thon, fieldtrips, ...), Assist in library/media center.

How To become a Volunteer? 

  1. Comply with appropriate volunteer screening requirements. (English)  (Spanish)
  2. Complete and return a school volunteer application. (English)  (Spanish)
  3. Read and acknowledge understanding of the Volunteer Code of Conduct: (English)  (Spanish)  
  4. Provide results of Tuberculin skin test.

Everyone A Reader

Want to help your child and other first grade students at mason become better readers?

get trained like a professional reading tutor

  • Everyone a reader is a program designed and overseen by the San Diego County Office of Education and has proven to be a highly successful and positive way of supporting children in the process of learning to read.
  • As a reading tutor, you will be reading one on one with 4 different students for 15 minutes, for a total of one hour a week. (You get to pick the day and time that works best for you!)

Volunteer Procedures

On June 9, 2009, The School Volunteer Programs, was revised to establish safeguards to further protect our students and school staff and allow for a variety of opportunities for volunteering.

Volunteer Opportunities

Without the help of volunteers like you, we may not be able to provide Mason with the programs & events listed. Let us know how you would like to help our school out! There are many different ways to help & we can find an opportunity that fits your comfort & interests! Volunteers can help as much or as little as they are able. If you have questions, let us know!
