News from Mason Principal

Principal Corner 03-24

Dear Lion Scholars,
This week, your teachers will meet with your parents to tell them what wonderful work you have been doing here at Mason. Every day this week school will be dismissed at 12:15.

Remember to practice responsibility and wear your Mason shirt on Friday to show your spirit. We will have a Den meeting in the morning and Otter Pops after school.

Have a fantastic week and a joyful vacation but remember to read and practice your math. We will see you again on April 28th!

Dear Lion Scholars,

Happy Green Day! We hope that you all remembered to wear your crazy green. Did any Leprechauns visit your classrooms and make a mess? I hope that they didn't because we will have some important visitors coming to watch you learn on Monday.

Make sure that you continue to show self-control by keeping your hands and feet to yourself. Also, show compassion and make sure that no one is left out on the playground.

This will be a busy week filled with lots of fun reading, writing, doing math and Chuck-E-Cheese! Yes, join us at Chuck-E-Cheese on Thursday night! We will have a roaring good time!

Respectfully, Ms. H

Dear Lion Parents,

We are very grateful that we have such hard working students and families here at Mason! However, we need to remind the families that we rarely see that WE NEED YOU TOO! There are many things that we wish to accomplish at Mason for our children. There are several events that we could really use your support with. Mason Clean up day on March 15th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This is a time when we do our spring cleaning and beautify our school. We really need all Hands on Deck for this event.

Teachers will be able to discuss the Common Core National Standards with you (see our website) at parent conferences which are scheduled for the week of March 24th .We will have a 12:15 dismissal time Monday through Friday. It is critical that your children are picked up on time and that parents attend conferences as requested by the teachers.

Thank you to the parents who are teaching their children to follow the traffic rules. This helps ensure the safety of our children. Parents who continue to ignore these rules put all of our children at risk. Please use the crosswalks and honor our no parking and drop off zones. Remember, our "children listen to what we say...but they watch what we do."

We begin spring vacation on MONDAY MARCH 31st and we are on vacation until -April 25th. School will resume Monday, April 28th. During our break, students are still expected to read and practice their number facts. Encourage your children to participate in learning activities when school is not in session. Here are some suggestions:

Dear Lion Scholars,

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and you are ready to practice honesty.

What Is Honesty?
When people are honest, they can be relied on not to lie, cheat, or steal.
Honesty is telling the truth no matter what. It is being truthful even when admitting the truth could make someone disappointed.
Being honest means you don't make false promises. You do what you said you would do.

Make sure that you continue to show self control by keeping your hands and feet to yourself.
Ms. H
