News from Mason's Principal

Dearest Lions, Happy Monday! This will be an incredible week because you will be doing your best work. You will continue to show respect by following directions. Work hard to help your classmates follow directions also. Remember, this month we are practicing honesty. I know that being honest sometimes requires us to be brave: it might require us to stand up for what is right and that is not always an easy task.
On Wednesday, Mission Federal will be here to take your deposit and hand out backpacks. You must turn in the paperwork to participate. You will get a receipt when you turn in your money. Let’s see who can save the most money for college!
This Friday, we will have a Movie Night here at Mason. We will be showing “The Princess and the Frog”. I hope that you will join us from 5:30-7:00 in the MPR.
Have a week filled with compassion and honesty!
We are ALL special! Ms. H

Dearest Lions,
What a wonderful week this will be because our Mason Lions will show Lion Pride by practicing good character! I know that you will learn a lot this week because you will practice responsibility and respect as you pay attention in class. Practice self-control by keeping your hands and feet to yourself.
Are you an honest person? Take this test and find out.
True False
- If I went to the student store and they forgot to take my money I would remind them.
- If I found 10 Mason Bucks on the floor that belonged to my teacher I would put them in my backpack.
- If my teacher asked me if I did my homework and I forgot to do it, I would tell her that my dog ate it.

I would like to take this opportunity to say congratulations to my Mason Lions. The last few years, you have done a terrific job on your California State tests resulting in Mason being recognized as a school making significant academic gains. We will formally be recognized for earning the Title 1 Academic Achievement Award by the State Superintendent of schools on April 21. This is quite an honor and I am very proud of the hard work that our students, staff, and parents have done to make this possible. This is a collective effort and is evidence that we achieve more when we work together. Way to go Lions! |

Dearest Lions, I can’t believe that it is March. Time flies when you are having fun! I know that this will be a terrific week because you are rested and ready to learn.
This month we will practice honesty. Honesty is being truthful and trustworthy. In the spirit of honesty, I want to remind you to show compassion both in the classroom and on the playground. We need to do a better job at practicing self control by keeping your hands, feet, and mouth in control.
Mason is a great place to be because you are hard working students, so keep up the effort and set high goals for yourself. We have high goals for our campus, but need your help! Saturday (March 6 from 9-12 p.m.) is our first campus clean up day this year. We will clean, paint and do projects to make Mason even better! Each Lion that comes with an adult in their family to help will be invited to a special campus party. We hope to see you here!
Have a fantastic week!
We are ALL special! |

Dear Mason Lions, This Friday will be Spirit Day and we will wear our Mason shirts, have a Den Meeting and get Otter Pops. To earn LION BUCKS, you will need to practice compassion and follow the Golden Rule!
Which of these things are true about you? - I treat other people the way I want to be treated.
- I am kind to others and help when I can.
- I never intentionally ridicule, embarrass, or hurt other people.
- I say I am sorry if I hurt someone else.
- I work to make the lives of others better
Your sentence starters will be: I am a compassionate person because_________________ I am not a compassionate person when I_______________
Make this a wonderful week of learning! We are ALL special! Ms. H. |
