Dearest Lions, Happy Monday! This will be an incredible week because you will be doing your best work. You will continue to show respect by following directions. Work hard to help your classmates follow directions also. Remember, this month we are practicing honesty. I know that being honest sometimes requires us to be brave: it might require us to stand up for what is right and that is not always an easy task.
On Wednesday, Mission Federal will be here to take your deposit and hand out backpacks. You must turn in the paperwork to participate. You will get a receipt when you turn in your money. Let’s see who can save the most money for college!
This Friday, we will have a Movie Night here at Mason. We will be showing “The Princess and the Frog”. I hope that you will join us from 5:30-7:00 in the MPR.

Congratulations to Mrs. Tse's classroom for collecting the most Boxtops for January (542) and February (230). Mrs. Godlove's class was a close second and collected 199 boxtops for February. Thank you to everyone that has turned in Boxtops this year. So far we have received over $1800 this school year from all of the Boxtops we have collected. Remember to keep saving those Boxtops!
The March issue of our newsletter the Lions Pride Gazette is now available for download. Mason has gone green so paper copies will no longer be delivered to students. A limited number of paper copies will be available in the office.
I am very excited about our upcoming events this month and look forward to seeing everyone participating.
We will be having our Mason Movie Night and we will be featuring a family friendly movie and providing pizza and soda for $2.00. It is sure to be a lot of fun. Please plan to attend.
This month is also our annual PTA elections. If you are interested in a more active role in Mason PTA it is your chance to become more involved. There are plenty of areas where help is still needed. Please contact myself or Beth if you are interested.

I would like to take this opportunity to say congratulations to my Mason Lions. The last few years, you have done a terrific job on your California State tests resulting in Mason being recognized as a school making significant academic gains. We will formally be recognized for earning the Title 1 Academic Achievement Award by the State Superintendent of schools on April 21. This is quite an honor and I am very proud of the hard work that our students, staff, and parents have done to make this possible. This is a collective effort and is evidence that we achieve more when we work together. Way to go Lions!
